Wonder'neath Artist Studios April 7, 2015 Wonder'neath Open Studio Wonder'neath Artist Studios April 7, 2015 Friday, February 20th We defiantly brought out sand as one of our ingredients to protest against all the snow! A mixture of white glue, acrylic paint, and SAND for a sculpture medium that hardens after about a day. Homemade sanddough for play and casting. Gritty texture! Fun for the hands. Visitors are always welcome to bring their own materials and ideas. Check out this robot made of boxes, muffler tape, duct tape and found metal. Pipe cleaners, foam balls... I wonder where this is going...! Paint: so deeply satisfying! Needle felters and neighbours meeting for the first time. Sometimes the simple dialogue that surrounds an art technique allows people to feel at ease in a new space. Type writer/favourite spot made extra cozy with the AJ Smeltzer School Community quilt temporarily on display. Such a great cardboard creation! Sewing, dough, painting - it's amazing what can fit into a corner! Wet felting in the spotlight! First time embroidering! Now for the glue to make this creation complete! Sometimes parents come to the studio on their own - and then are incredibly generous with other people's kids! ; ) Check out these fine felted broaches! "Why did you make a banner that says FAIL BETTER?!" Foam creations for underwater explorations. What a great anchor! We love the practical things people make at the studio, like business cards! A special project for a dad who knows a thing or two about hearts. Because he's a heart surgeon!
